K-8 STEAM Experiences: Elevating Math & Science (closed)

Please note that the registration for this workshop is CLOSED due to maximum capacity and waitlist length.

Description:

This 15 hour course (6 hours synchronous + 9 hours self study) is focused on finding and curating STEAM partnerships and resources in your community with the goal of increasing access to STE(A)M experiences for every student. The goal is that all work can be used in your school or classroom for the coming school year. This course will focus on developing a plan for a partnership in the coming school year. Examples of partnership may be a local organization that can come to the school/classroom with STE(A)M activities, a field trip to a partner location, an assembly for the whole school, and much more. Additional time will be spent researching funding and available free resources for STE(A)M learning.

This course has three required synchronous sessions, in the beginning, middle, and close of the course. All other work will be completed between the live sessions.

Participant outcomes for the course:

- Develop a STE(A)M Learning Experience with a STE(A)M Partner in your area to implement in the 2024 - 2025 school year for students in the classroom or the whole school.

- Initiate a partnership with a local STE(A)M organization or resource

- Become familiar with local and statewide funding opportunities for STE(A)M learning in the classroom.
