Equitable Grading - PLC

Audience: High School Educators

This is for teachers who want to deepen their equitable grading practice. It is not an introductory course. Virtual meetings will occur virtually on the 4th Wednesday of the month from  4:30 - 6:00 pm (Jan 25, Feb 22, March 22, April 26, May 24th. *The June meeting date will be determined by attendees and their schedules).

  • Topics

    • Jan - What is the purpose of grades - create your own statement

    • Feb - Implementing the foundations of equitable grading

    • March - Creating / updating rubrics for patterns science

    • April - Tools and tricks for motivating students

    • May - Making reassessment work (without overloading teachers)

    • June - Group troubleshooting of equitable grading - plan for 2023

  • What to expect

    • 45 minutes of theory, practices, and ideas

    • 30 minutes of group work on problems of practice around the topic

    • 15 minute report out so everyone gains ideas

*Oregon high school science teachers will be paid a stipend of $50/hour to attend.
