The core foundation of our VIRTUAL professional development is to empower our participants to design place-based STE(A)M programming that incorporates student voices and inspires them as the doers and designers. Our webinars focus on social emotional learning; diversity, equity & inclusion; and culturally informed trauma, in addition to STEM/STEAM topics and incorporating Next Generation Science Standards. Our goal is to expand the statewide network of community-based organizations working to improve access to high quality STE(A)M education for underserved students and communities.

STEM Beyond School is a statewide professional development program funded through Oregon Department of Education and run through Oregon State University Extension. We focus on out-of-school/after-school educators and community-based organizations working with underserved students (e.g. students of color, students with disabilities, students navigating poverty, English language learners) in grades 3-8. The program is free and participants are eligible for a stipend of up to $2,500 and additional mini-grants.
