STEM Equity Ally Workshop - Introduction to Microaggressions and Implicit Bias 1.0

This virutal Zoom workshop is an introductory discussion on Identifying and Interrupting Racism in STEM. It covers the fundamental concepts of implicit bias and microaggressions. How does implicit bias reinforce structural inequity and racism in STEM education and programming? What kinds of strategies do we have and what questions can we create to examine our STEM programs and curriculum?

Facilitated by Louise Wilmes, Charissa Jones, and Dan Prince

This workshop is part of a series of workshops that were developed by PMPS Equity LeNS (Equity Leadership Network for STEM) team, a group of equity experts and STEM education experts. The goal of these workshops is to empower educators, community program staff, and others who work with marginalized or underserved youth to effectively serve as an Ally*.
